FAQ

Jiu jitsu is for anyone who is willing to put in the mat time.

If you have any chronic health issues or medical conditions please consult your physician before starting any contact sport / martial art.

No previous experience required. Being a complete novice / beginner is not a bad thing as a student with an empty cup is always ready to have their cup filled with knowledge. 4Seven has classes for all levels.

In the beginning, you can expect to get tapped a lot. With little to no experience you will most likely be working and focusing on positional escapes and submission defense. This isn’t a bad thing as everyone was a white belt at some point throughout their jiu jitsu journey. And the old mantra “a good defense is a good offense” still holds true in Brazilian Jiu-jitsu.

If you are new to bjj or you are a no-gi practitioner, then shorts and a t-shirt will suffice.

Be sure any and all attire does not have any zippers, buttons, buckles, belts, or pins, that may cause injury during practice.
